Overview
Shree Vighnaharta Traders Co. (विघ्नहर्ता ट्रेडर्स कं.) sells cattle feed at the counter. Staff write a bill, drop stock in the same step, collect cash or UPI, and follow up on khata from a phone or the shop desk.
It is a private shop tool: only signed-in staff can open it. The screenshots use demonstration data.
The problem
Bills were written by hand and stock was counted separately, so the shop had no quick way to see what was left, what sold today, or which customers still owed. Cancelling a sale meant putting bags back on the shelf by memory, and following up on udhari meant hunting through notebooks.
The solution
One app where saving a bill also reduces stock, in a single database transaction, so the bills and the stock always match. A cancelled bill puts stock back (unless it was an old imported sale) and treats any money already paid as an advance. A bill prints in Marathi at the counter, or reaches the customer on WhatsApp as a private link to the PDF.
Each customer sits on one ledger keyed by mobile number: opening balance, unpaid bills, collections and advances. Enquire finds an account; a WhatsApp reminder can list every unpaid bill, with a running total. Reports count only active bills.

Technical decisions
One Next.js app holds both the screens and the API, hosted on Vercel, with data in Neon PostgreSQL and Drizzle. A bill, its stock movement and any payment are saved in one transaction, so stock cannot fall below what was sold.
The WhatsApp link opens a single bill by a random token, without sign-in and hidden from search engines. There is no GST on these sales.
